  • Beta Club Project - Our Beta Club is sponsoring a project that turns your shoes into water.  100,000 lbs of shoes = 1 drill rig that can provide drinking water to remote villages in Kenya!   Empty out your closets of unwanted shoes...tie, bag, or rubber band pairs together...and drop them off in the collection bin in the entryway of our school.  Not only does your donation help in the purchase of a drill rig, it also provides shoes for people who cannot afford new shoes, and it keeps shoes out of land fills.  For more information, you may visit www.Shoes4Water.org.
  • Library News - Do you owe a late fee for overdue books in our library?  If so, all you have to do is to turn in all library books by May 31st and your late fees will be waived.  Fees for damaged or lost books will still need to be paid by the end of the year.  Report cards will not be distributed until all fees are paid.  The last day to check out a book is May 29th.  AR cutoff is May 31st, and all books are due on the 31st!
  • Cheerleading - There will be a meeting for parents of rising 7th and 8th graders who are interested in cheerleading for the 2013-2014 school year on Tuesday, May 7th at 6pm.
  • Drivers Education - A new method for registering for DRIVERS EDUC class at KMHS will begin with the summer class. Go to www.kmhigh.org  and click on "DRIVERS EDUC CLASS" for the schedule.  Follow the path to learn how to register.
  •  Proctors Needed! - During the time in which our students take the End-of-Grade Tests, we are required to have an additional adult in every classroom.  We need approximately 40 volunteers on each of our testing days...June 4th, 5th, and 6th.  Proctors help pass out testing supplies and monitor students during testing.  There is a brief training session prior to proctoring in a classroom, and you will need to be available for about 4 hours (8am-12pm).  Parents are not allowed to proctor in their child's classroom, and proctors must be 18 years of age or older and out of high school.  If you are available and would like to help our school in this way, please click on this link or contact the school at 704-476-8340.  You may volunteer for only one test date, or as many as works with your schedule.  Thank you in advance for your support!
  • Scholastic Book Fair - May 13th-17th - This will be our buy one get one free sale.  It is a great time to stock up on some good books for the summer!  Our supply is limited...so shop early!
