- Softball (from last week) - The Patriots were defeated by Burns, 18-9. Burns scored 6 runs in the first inning, but Kings Mountain answered with 7 in the second to take the lead. The score was tied 8-8 going into the sixth before Burns opened up the game. Catie Payne had three hits and Cassi Melton had two hits and scored three runs. Amya White also contributed two hits for Kings Mountain. Next game is Tuesday @ West Lincoln.
- Football (from last week) - EL scored twice in the first half leading us 14 to 0 before Hunter Blanton connected with Landry Crawford for a 55yd TD pass. 2pt conversion run by Sabiem Beam was good. Second half our defense played well making several big stops and giving us the ball with good field position for our second score on a end around 35 yd run by Landon Zanders and 2pt conversion failed. We got the ball back and had the ball on a good drive inside the EL 40yd line when penalties hurt us. Then defense gave up a 40yd run to win the game for EL. We are 1-1 in division and play WL at Home Wed 5:00.
