  • Progress Reports - Go home tomorrow! 
  • Early College High School - If you have a child that is in the 8th grade that is interested in applying for the ECHS, there will be a parent meeting on November 18th at 6:30pm.
  • Basketball - Open gym on November 19th from 6-7:30 for 8th graders wishing to try out for basketball.  Open gym on November 21st from 607:30 for 7th graders wishing to try out. 
  • College Day - Many students at the high school will be applying for college this week.  Decisions about career paths will begin as 8th graders register for high school at the end of this year.  It is not too early for students at KMMS to explore careers and colleges that will prepare them for those careers. Therefore, we will have College Day this Friday, and we are encouraging students to wear their favorite college apparel. 
  • Sports news from last week - Volleyball - The Lady Patriots lost against East Lincoln. 22:25, 25:21, 19:25, 27:29. The team was led by Jordan Chapman, Cassidy Melton, Emilee Cloninger, and Belle Hollifield. --- The Lady Patriots led the way and dominated the game against Lincolnton 25:23, 25:16, 25:18. The Patriots were led by all of the players on the team. It was a great win for the team.  Wrestling - KMMS beat East Lincoln by the score of 63-32. Kings mountain is now 2-1 on the year.  Winning matches for KM were Alexis Garcia, Quenten Nguyen, Reese Reinhardt, Landry Crawford, JT Cash, Estevan Vargas, Jerdon Pressley, Paul Culbreth, Zachery Carroll, Collin Franks, and RJ Bishop. KM next wrestles Lincolnton away on Thursday.

  • Veterans Day Holiday - Monday, November 11th - Have a great long weekend!
  • Spirit Week - We will have KMMS Spirit Week next week...12th-15th.  Tuesday is Favorite Team Day.  Wear jerseys, t-shirts, and caps that sport your favorite team.  Wednesday is Tacky Day.  Thursday is 80's Day.  Friday is Patriot Pride Day!  
  • Volleyball -  Kings Mountain 2, West Lincoln 3 (17:25, 11:25, 26:24, 19:25, 5:15).  The Lady Patriots came out on the weak end but they were ready to play with some great passes and serves in the third and fourth game.  Some of the strong players that contributed were Makena Deaton, Georgia Moss, and Cassidy Melton.
  • Reward Cookout - Nov. 15th - For students that have not received a level drop during the 1st 9 week grading period.

  • Wrestling - Kings Mountain Middle lost this Thursday to West LIncoln by the score of 63-36.  We wrestled hard but lost some close matches that could have went either way.  Winning for KM were Mason Nguyen, Alexis Garcia, Jerdon Pressley, Tiger Tuttanon, Sedrick Morgan, and Collin Franks.  Next match is Tuesday at home against East Lincoln.

  • Report Cards - Go home with students on November 7th

  • Winter Sports - Nov. 7th - Volleyball @ WL; Wrestling @ home against WL
  • Wrestling - Kings Mountain traveled to Burns and defeated them by a score of 78-24.  The lower weights got us off to a good start and we continued to wrestle well through the line up.  This was the first official match for Kings Mountain who is now 1-0.  Kings Mountains first home match will be Thursday against West Lincoln, which was the match-up of last year's championship match-up.  Winning matches for KM were Mason Nguyen, Quenton Nguyen, Reese Rienhardt, Joe Ruffalo, Landry Crawford, JT Cash, Jerdon Pressley, Zackary Carroll, Sedrick Morgan, Matthew Huffstetler, Collin Franks, RJ Bishop, and Tyler Hunley.  Please come out and support Thursday for the big match-up with West Lincoln.

  • Spooky Story Contest Winners - This contest is sponsored by the Kings Mountain Herald.  8th Grade Winners: 1st place - Hallie Hunt - Ms. Blaine's class; 2nd place - Katelin Phaengkhamhak - Ms. Blaine's class; 3rd place - Eric Davis - Mrs. York's class
  • Volleyball - KM got off to a great start winning their first game 25-15.  Burns made it tough the next game...winning the second game 25-13.  However, KM took the  next two 25-23 and then closed it out 25-7.  The patriots played well as a team and look to continued improvement Thursday afternoon as they travel to West Lincoln for their 2nd game of the year.  Record is 1-0.
