- T-Shirts for Landry - The FCA is sponsoring a T-shirt sale for Landry Crawford. Landry is an 8th grade student at KMMS that is currently battling cancer. This is a way for us to show our support for him. All proceeds will go to the Crawford family to help with medical expenses. T-shirts will be sold on a pre-order basis and will be available for pick up at KMMS. Orders may be placed in the front office or online. Those who place an order online may pay when the shirt is picked up...or the order may be placed online and the money sent to KMMS. The first order will be placed on January 15th. Online Order Form
- New Assistant Principals - Mrs. Carrie Knotts joined the Patriot team just before the Christmas break. She will be the 8th grade assistant principal. Mr. Ruppe, who was formerly one of our 8th grade science teachers, has moved into the interim 7th grade assistant principal position. Samantha Williams is our new Supernova science teacher.
- Students of the Month for December - The character trait for the month of December is "Service to Others/Kindness." The following students were nominated by their teachers for demonstrating service to others at Kings Mountain Middle School: (Front Row) Destiny Hill - Supernovas, Patrick Burton - Marlins, Leeasia Rhodes - Titans; (Back Row) Dustin Parker - Waveriders, Jada Roberts - Rockets, Jasmine Guy - Stingrays; (Not Pictured) Rahheim Moore - Voyagers. Monthly winners are announced around the 15th of each month.
- Teacher of the Month for December - Mr. Rupp was selected by students at Kings Mountain Middle School as the December "Teacher of the Month." Mr. Rupp teaches a lab class, Technology Design and Innovation, at KMMS. He attended Gardner-Webb University where he received a B.A. in Middle Grades Education with concentrations in Math and Science. He also attended American College of Education where he received his M.A. degree in Educational Technology. He also sponsors the Robotics Club that was established last year. He works with teams of students that use their knowledge of robotics to complete against other schools. Mr. Rupp enjoys playing music and spending time with his family.
- Career Cruising - Prior to the holiday break, 8th grade students participated in Career Cruising. This is a program that helps them to begin thinking about career pathways that they may choose when registering for 9th grade later in the year. There is more information on our website. Your student should have a username and password that will allow him/her to go back and access their personal information.
- Patriot Gear for Sale - We have some neat Patriot gear for sale in the front office...T-shirts, sweatshirts, and hats. There is an additional hat that is not on the website. The cost for it is $20.
